Nicolas Cage is a legend, and here’s why

America’s national treasure is back on the big screen.

On this week’s episode of The Mothership, the geek culture podcast of the USA TODAY NETWORK, the crew pays tribute to actor Nicolas Cage, whose new movie Mandy hits theaters Friday. In “Mandy,” Cage plays a lumberjack named Red seeking to avenge the murder of his beloved partner.

It’s the latest in a long line of Cage classics, including “Face/Off,” “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and “National Treasure.” Why do fans love Cage so much? What’s our favorite film? Plus, what’s his one essential movie?
