Rihanna’s concert becomes the second highest rated Super Bowl

Rihanna’s show had the second-highest average viewership in Super Bowl history, reported the Fox network, which is responsible for broadcasting the Super Bowl championship game. The singer’s performance on Sunday (12/2) was seen by 118.7 million viewers on TV and on the broadcaster’s digital platforms.

The performance was second only to Katy Perry’s 2015 concert which was watched by an estimated 120 million viewers across all platforms. The Top 5 of the largest audience, by the way, is filled with pop music divas: Lady Gaga, Madonna and Beyoncé round out positions 3 to 5.

The game itself, between the Philadelphia Eagles and the victorious Kansas City Chiefs, was seen less than the concert, averaging 113 million viewers, the highest Super Bowl crowd in six years.

The performance was Rihanna’s first since the Grammy Awards in January 2018. She began the show by singing “Bitch Better Have My Money”, one of her latest singles, released in 2015. During the performance, Rihanna also included a funk version of the his song “Rude Boy”, which wowed Brazilians on the internet.

Despite pressure from fans, he has yet to comment on releasing music or a new album. She only spoke about her second pregnancy, which was confirmed after it became apparent during the show.

There is some expectation for the artist who will also perform at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony, which will take place on March 12, as she is nominated for the Best Original Song award for “Lift Me Up” – song from the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. This is the singer’s first nomination for the largest film awards.
