Actress Courteney Cox, the eternal Monica of the “Friends” series, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Monday (2/27). The event was attended by actresses Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow (both of “Friends”) and Laura Dern (“Jurassic World: Dominion”).
In accepting the honor, Cox admitted that she hates and is terrified of public speaking, “which is why I don’t perform unless I’m literally held back by Lisa and Jennifer.” She thanked Aniston, Dern and Kudrow for supporting her “in public, like you usually do in private.”
She also recalled a critical moment early in her career when she was broke and her father advised her to go home and stop acting. However, the next day she landed a role in the series ‘Caras & Caretas’.
“This will make me cry because I love my dad, but I just want to say that I know he is very proud of me and it seems like I’m here to stay,” she said, pointing to her star which will forever plant him on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Hollywood.
Guests also paid tribute to Cox. “If you’re lucky enough to meet her, you’ll learn that she can’t help herself,” Dern said. “She has to be honest about who she is, how she sees the world and, frankly, what she sees in us. It’s not always easy, but it only makes us better by knowing her, working with her, and if you’re very lucky, you might love her.”
Kudrow said “we are deeply proud to know you. You are the definition of a truly beautiful, talented, and above all, truly good and decent human being. Thank you for personally enriching our lives.”
And Aniston added that “as a fan, we want to thank you for making us laugh. Watching you on screen and in life in general, you are one of the funniest human beings on planet Earth. Nothing makes me happier than a joke from Courteney and always making us smile.” and thank you for enriching our lives with your work. We are so proud of you. We love you.”
