One of the most famous Brazilian TV presenters will turn 60 on March 27. Xuxa Menegel she won a generation of fans, whom she called shorties.

Princess Xuxa and Os Trapalhões

Launched in 1989, Princess Xuxa and the Trapalhões was directed by José Alvarenga Jr. and, as the name suggests, brought together two giants of television: Xuxa and the crew of Os Trapalhões.

Inspired by the Mad Max trilogy, the film tells the story of Princess Xeron (Xuxa), who lives in her palace and believes that the people of her kingdom are happy. But Ratam (Paulo Reis) assumes power over the planet Antar, after the death of the local emperor, and orders all children captured to work as slaves. It is up to the princes Mussaim (Mussum), Dedeon (Dedé Santana) and Zacaling (Zacarias) to ally with Cavaleiro Sem Nome (Renato Aragão), so that together they can defeat Ratam.

The film is the highest grosser of the 1990s and one of the biggest successes of Xuxa’s career. crystal moon tells the story of Cinderella, with biographical cinematic paintings, while Xuxa plays a character called Maria da Graça.

Adapted from the book The fantastic mystery of Feiurinha, by the writer Pedro Bandeira, the film promotes a reunion of the main princesses of fairy tales: Cinderella (Xuxa Meneghel), Rapunzel (Angélica), Snow White (Daniele Valente), Bella (Lavínia Vlasak) and Little Red Riding Hood (Samantha Schmutz ). With the exception of the last one, all are pregnant and are about to celebrate 25 years of marriage with their respective prince charming.

The six will venture into the real world, with the help of a writer, to unravel the mystery of the disappearance of Princess Feiurinha (played by Xuxa’s heiress, Sasha Meneghel). The film was released on Christmas 2009 and was the seventh most watched in Brazil the following year.

Xuxa and the Duendes

The success released in 2001 brought Kira (Xuxa), a botanist endowed with magical powers, while not knowing their origin. Until Nanda (Debby), a 10-year-old girl, finds an elf named Damiz (Leonardo Cordonis) trapped in her room and asks Kira for help to free him.

They soon discover that Damiz is the prince of the elves and that he has been kidnapped by Gorgon (Guilherme Karam), a greedy executive who wants to buy Nanda’s family home. To help fight Gorgon, Kira then decides to enter the world of elves.

The film was seen by around 2.6 million people, according to Ancine, and raised more than R$11 million.

Xuxa and the Duendes 2: On the fairy path

Launched the following year, the sequel followed up on the success of the first, also collecting more than R$ 11 million. This time, Kira has to fight the powerful witch Algaz. For this, Kira will have the help of the good witch Epifânia (Deborah Secco), of the elf Dafnis (Thiago Fragoso) and also of Queen Dara (Vera Fischer), her fairy mother.

Kira goes to the witches’ castle and Ana sheds a love tear which ends the witches’ curse, which would turn all hearts in love to stone at the next full moon. Kira manages to enter the witch castle with her friends and traps the witch Algaz in the mirror, leaving her there forever. Eventually, Kira and Rafael (Luciano Szafir) get married and have a son. In the last scene a witch appears, played by Susana Vieira, who says that the story doesn’t end like this and she starts laughing, suggesting that there would be a continuation, but the sequence didn’t come.

Xuxa Abracadabra

In another fairy tale adventure, Sofia (Xuxa) plays a librarian who only works with children’s books. About to go out with her best friend (Heloísa Perissé) at a party, she receives a request from Matheus (Márcio Garcia) to take care of their children, Lucas (Brunno Abrahão) and Júlia (Maria Mariana Azevedo). Sofia agrees to the request because, in addition to being very fond of children, she has a secret crush on Matheus, who is a widower.

Then he leaves for the house of the children’s great-uncle, who is a sorcerer-astronomer and has a magical book, which Sofia and the children end up teleporting into, heading to the land of fairy tales. The three then meet different characters, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio, Puss in Boots, Snow White and Hansel and Gretel, and end up getting in the way of all the stories.

The film had its premiere in Brazil in December 2003, having more viewers than an animation from Disney studios. The total collection also exceeded R$11 million.

Xuxa in Sonho de Menina

The film released in December 2007 had the host sharing the lead role with a children’s version. In the feature film, Kika, whose dream is to be an actress, decides to go to Rio de Janeiro for an audition. However, a misunderstanding separates her and her friend Lara.

Alone in a bus station, Kika meets a group of kids who are going by bus to Rio for an important math test. Kika ends up getting on the bus and the journey is the scene of many adventures and discoveries. A spell turns Kika into a little girl, and she ends up dealing with the antics of children at a roadside hotel.

The film did poorly at the box office, grossing only R$1.8 million, with 309,174 admissions, throughout Brazil.

Xuxa Requebra

In the story, the Dois Corações dance academy, where Nena (Xuxa) studied, is in danger and could end up in the hands of Macedão (Elke Maravilha). But there is hope: the “Requebra 2000”, the dance tournament of the millennium, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro, has a sponsor willing to give a cash prize that solves the Academy’s problem.

To win the tournament, the gang has the indispensable help of Nena, a former student of the Academy and now a journalist for the famous newspaper Hora X. But Macedão entrusts her stepson Felipe (Daniel) to hire professional dancers to defeat them mercilessly. . Also, he has Guto (Vitor Hugo), as his spy who uses clumsy henchmen to sabotage the people of the Academia de Dança during the qualifiers.

Xuxa Popstar

The film takes the presenter back to the world of fashion, where her career began. Launched in 2000, it tells the story of Nick (Xuxa), an international top model who returns to Brazil to find her prince charming (Luigi Baricelli), met through an internet chat.

Already in the countryside, she becomes a successful fashion businesswoman and is given the challenge of producing a mega event. But her competitor, JP (Marcos Frota), will do anything to upset her plans.
