Former Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist Talks Band’s Albums, Says He’s Made ‘Cooler Songs’

Josh Klinghoffer gave an interview to the Brazilian channel and was baffled in evaluating new productions of the rock group

The former guitarist of hot red peppers, Josh Klinghoffer, expressed his opinion on the release of the albums of the band he was a part of until 2019, when he was fired. He recorded the albums I’m With You (2011) and The Getaway (2016) with the Chili Peppers.

In an interview with 5 Notas, the musician said he “must” listen to the rock band’s album. Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen were released in 2022 and brought in new guitarist, John Frusciante.

“I had to listen to the new albums, I just couldn’t not. Because I was hearing some stuff about them, so I listened. In fact, I never finished listening to the second album they released,” he said. “I tried to listen to everything before a plane ride and got to the ninth song, and I don’t think I ever heard the rest,” she added.

At one point in the interview, he was baffled admitting that he preferred it when he was in the band. “Honestly, I think we were making more beautiful music. I wish the songs were done. I never want to sound negative when I talk about someone making music, but I was shocked when I heard their new record,” he added. Watch the interview:
