Elizabeth II would not have approved: for this reason, the wife of Charles III, Camilla, parted with her favorite hobby – horseback riding

Queen Consort Camilla is being forced to give up her favorite pastime – and the reason why she voiced underscores her difference from Elizabeth II.

Along with her husband, King Charles III, Camilla traveled to Germany on her first official visit abroad in a new status for herself. During a meeting with schoolchildren in Hamburg, Camilla admitted that she was forced to give up her favorite hobby – horseback riding. Camilla backed this up saying she was already too old for it.

“Unfortunately I can’t ride anymore,” admitted Camilla.

The Queen’s recognition came as a surprise to royal fans, given that Camilla’s stepmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, continued to ride well into her nineties.

Queen Consort Camille’s passion for horse riding linked her to the late queen and her penchant for horses.

Elizabeth II received her first riding lesson when she was just three years old, and her first pony, a Shetland mare, was given to her by her grandfather, King George V, at the age of four years.

His passion for horse riding and horse racing has become synonymous with his 70 year reign. The queen liked to go to the stables to watch the horses in the morning and talk to all the grooms.

Camilla’s abandonment of her favorite hobby, which brought her closer to the former queen, is likely to disappoint fans of the royal family. Considering the upcoming coronation isn’t generating much excitement among the subjects anyway, it’s unlikely to add any points to the new royal couple.

Camilla did not give the exact reasons why she decided to give up horse riding. Although we see from the example of Elizabeth II that age is not always a barrier, there are a number of age-related health complications that can become causes, such as arthritis or weakness. After all, equestrian sport is associated with risks.
