Ivan was born from an extramarital affair between the famous Soviet actor Valery Zolotukhin and actress Irina Lindt, who was 33 years younger than him. Ivan was still small when his father died, and the boy was not immediately informed of this, consoling him with the explanation that his father had left on a long business trip.
