They went to the temple and to the construction site: how was the fate of the Soviet actors of the same role

Getting a lead role in a movie is a stroke of luck for any actor. And if the photo brings national fame! But, alas, success can be fleeting. And the heroes of this material were convinced of this by their own example.

Even though there was more than one movie in their filmography, these actors are remembered in one picture.

Fyodor Dunayevsky

Ivan in the movie “Mail”

Fedor got into the cinema thanks to his classmate Anastasia Nemolyaeva, the daughter of cameraman Nikolai Nemolyaev, who happened to be working on the set of Courier. She took several photos of her friends at Mosfilm’s acting department. Dunaevsky’s portraits attracted attention there, and soon the director Karen Shakhnazarov approved him for the role. His “cinema” Nemolyaeva also received a role.

With the collapse of the USSR, Dunaevsky emigrated to Israel, then returned to Moscow to receive training as a director at VGIK. But he did not manage to really realize himself in the cinema – he was filmed from time to time, and not in the main roles. The actor is still known for the role of Ivan.

Boris Bystrov

Aladdin in the movie Aladdin’s magic lamp

The role in the fairy tale film was the debut of 21-year-old Bystrov, who had just graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School, and immediately made him a movie star. A handsome man with seductive brown eyes captivated all Union viewers. But soon the appearance of the actor began to change rapidly – he grew fat and was no longer suitable for the role of handsome men. Bystrov began to shoot less often, and the roles themselves could not be compared with bright debuts. But the actor realized himself in dubbing: for example, Michael Caine talks about his voice in The Dark Knight and Interstellar.

Alexander Mikhailov

Alexey Fedyashev in the movie “Formula of Love”

Ironically, the brightest role in the actor’s filmography was the last. His film career lasted only four years, and during this time he still managed to play Mikhailo Lomonosov and Romeo in a film-performance. At the age of 26, Mikhailov decided to leave the cinema and the stage and devote himself to spiritual life – he got a job as a choirboy in the temple, and then graduated from the St. Tikhon Orthodox Humanitarian University .

Igor Lyakh

Lenya in the movie “Love and Doves”

The role was the debut of a graduate of the Higher Theater School. MS Shchepkina – and immediately such a hit! Vladimir Menchov’s comedy became a real popular hit, and the audience adored the characters like a family, so the actor opened up all the prospects for a successful career. Lyakh really started to get roles, but those films were passing, and then the 90s, which were difficult for cinematography, came. The actor focused on work in the theater, began to teach. He only returned to the movies in the mid-2000s, but the time for leading roles has already passed – only episodes have been offered, albeit in popular comedies, like New Year’s Tariff and Christmas Trees 3. In 2018 , Igor Lyakh died of cardiac arrest at the age of 55.

Igor Krasavin

Patrick in the movie Don’t Leave…

It was in the late 1980s, descending, as usual, in the Minsk metro, a 10th grader, Igor Krasavin, did not think that his life would change dramatically. Director Leonid Nechaev noticed the high school student and immediately realized that he had found his hero. A romantic young man with delicate features and a modest smile, it seems he was the ideal candidate to play the Queen’s pupil.

After the release of the picture, directors began to compete to call Krasavin in their films, but Igor’s parents strongly opposed his film career. So, after touring with Nechaev, Krasavin returned to his native Minsk, entered the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, and then began to work in the construction industry. In 2009, the failed actor died after undergoing surgery for a ruptured aneurysm.
