Viih Tube says Lua had to undergo surgery in the first week of life

the influencer Viih tube said the daughter moon he had to undergo surgery during the first week of life. The baby underwent a frenectomy, a procedure that involves cutting the membrane under the tongue, which makes breastfeeding easier.

“Lua was born with a ‘brake’ on her tongue, she had a frenectomy, but before having her frenectomy, she breastfed. She had a suction bubble, she did several things. And knowing I was wrong made it so much more easy, ”described the influencer on social media.

The evaluation of the “brake” in the speech of newborns became mandatory in 2014 with the creation of the Law n. 13.002which imposed the French Language Assessment Protocol in Children, or Test de la Linguinha.

In the portal of Ministry of Health, it is described that the test allows to detect whether a possible alteration of the language will directly influence “the quality of breastfeeding of the child and the development of speech, chewing, swallowing and oral hygiene”. According to the institution, the Linguinha Test aims to avoid early weaning.

The test, however, is a subject of disagreement within the medical community. A Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP), filed for repeal of the law in 2019arguing that the decision was published “without prior consultation with the entities involved in this aspect of children’s health, in particular the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics”.

According to the SBP, the Linguinha Test causes unnecessary surgery and makes it difficult to identify more serious cases. “Every action that protects and promotes breastfeeding must be encouraged, but with adequate criteria and analysis, so that it brings benefits to the mother-child combination”, writes the institution.
