Family members of the host posted the news on social media and said she died from worsening chronic kidney problems.

“The family, dismayed and inconsolable, announces the death of Palmira Nery da Silva Onofre, known as Nonna Palmirinha, at the age of 91, which took place today, May 7, at 11:20 due to worsening chronic kidney problems. He was hospitalized at the Paulista Unit of the Alemão Oswaldo Cruz Hospital, from April 11”, the post stated on his official account.

She had already been hospitalized three times in 2020. In October, she had a urinary tract infection, and in early December, due to low blood sodium, she was admitted to the intensive care unit. At the end of that month, she returned to the hospital with a urinary tract infection.
