‘So many lies’, says the son of Gugu Liberato on the testimony of the sisters in the succession hearing

João Augusto Liberato spoke for the first time about the judicial hearings promoted by the family to contest the father’s inheritance, gugu. On social media, she condemned the criticisms received for having kept silent on Monday 22, during the testimonies of the sisters Sofia and Marina Liberato, who provided support to her mother.

The 19-year-old twins argue Rosa Miriam di Matteo, which demands recognition of the stable union with the presenter. João, on the other hand, is on his aunt’s side Freed Aparecidawho was appointed executor of the communicator.

On the night of this Tuesday 23, Gugu’s eldest son shared several photos with his father to explain that “it is not true that I preferred to remain silent during the hearing, I did not speak because it was not the time to listen to myself” . Furthermore, the 21-year-old said that, during the hearing, “it was very sad to see and hear so many things that were not true”.

“I am a private and discreet person like my father was. I didn’t really want to speak publicly about this case, but all the rumors about yesterday’s hearing, and everything that was said about me, forced me to write this message I insisted on being present and it’s not true that I preferred to remain silent during the hearing, I didn’t raise my voice because it wasn’t the time for me to be heard”, he began.

João stated that, in fact, “I have a lot to talk about and I even had to hold back from speaking when the time wasn’t right. It was very sad to see and hear so many things that weren’t true, but I respected the rules of the audience . My life is very sad and incredibly pointless. My father taught me so many things and what I want is to continue my life honoring all of that,” he lamented.

Finally, the major reiterated his decision to support Gugu’s original decision. “(…) Everything he did was very well thought out and his decisions were always focused on the greater good of all. Anyone who really knew him knows his strong integrity and intelligence in decision making. And today I see his life and the It’s his story to be disrespected with a bunch of lies. My father doesn’t deserve it and I will do anything to defend the truth and his memory,” she said.

Gugu Liberated he died in November 2019, aged 60, in Orlando, Florida, USA, after a domestic accident. The children then got into a dispute about the presenter’s millionaire inheritance.

In the will, signed in 2011, Gugu did not recognize Rose Miriam di Matteo as a permanent companion and appointed her sister, Aparecida Liberato, responsible for the care of her estate (property divided among the heirs). In it, the communicator left 75% of the assets to his three children and the remaining 25% to his five grandchildren.

Faced with the situation, Rose contested and filed a lawsuit to collect the amounts related to the pension she receives from Gugu’s estate.

The twins Sofia and Marina Liberato, 19 years old, daughters of the presenter, testified this Monday 22 to the Justice of San Paolo. If justice recognizes the stable union, Rose Miriam will be entitled to Gugu’s estate, half of the inheritance. The other 50% is compulsorily passed on to the three children, João, Sofia and Marina.

The hearings scheduled for this Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 of the case relating to the patrimony (assets divided among the heirs) have been postponed to June. The judge’s decision requires that all witnesses be heard.

“We are in no hurry. We just hope that justice will be served with evidence that the widow, Rose Miriam, was living in a stable relationship with Gugu Liberato,” said Nelson Wilians, an attorney representing Rose and the twins, in a statement. The trial proceeds in the secrecy of justice.

When they were minors, Sofia and Marina managed to emancipate themselves and are represented by the same lawyer as their mother.
