The Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo (MP-SP) has launched an investigation to investigate the conduct of Rita Souza, mother of the influencer Belle Belinha, who recently went viral by offering alcoholic beverages to a child. Belle Belinha is also a minor, 17 years old.
In a statement, the MP-SP said it was “evident that the teenager’s mother is conniving with the conduct and display of age-inappropriate content for her daughter”. The investigation was opened by prosecutor Sandra Massud.
Rita Souza defended herself through publications on a social network. She said her daughter’s father disappeared without paying her child support, leaving her alone with the responsibility of raising the girl. “Perhaps it would be good for the Public Prosecutor to investigate the father’s behavior and follow him. After all, the responsibility would not only lie with the mother”, she wrote. The deputy, however, only mentioned her mother in the release note of the inquiry.
Rita, who works in a clothing store in Brás, added that she would not be able to control all the content that Belle Belinha has access to. “I can’t afford to spend 24 hours taking care of my daughter who is almost 18. I’m not rich, I have to work,” she added.
The mother also said that she resists when she sees content that crosses the line, but that her daughter doesn’t always pay attention to her. Also, she said that she tries not to judge too much, because “the judges of the Internet” have already done that.
In the case of the video in which Belle Belinha appears offering alcohol to a child, Rita said it caught her attention, which she deleted shortly after. The influencer also posted a retraction video after the case.

In the investigation opened by Sandra Massud, in addition to Belle Belinha’s mother, some social networks are mentioned. According to the prosecutor, Google, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok would be aware of the influencer’s practices and would be allowing the wide dissemination of the acts.
Network managers were given 30 days to send a clarification to the deputy. OR Earth tried to contact social networks, but received no response up to the time of this posting.
In addition, information was requested from the authorities of the capital São Paulo and the Military Police on the operating license of the nightclubs frequented by Belle Belinha and whether these places allow the entry of minors under 18 years of age.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has asked CyberGaeco, MPSP’s arm for the fight against digital crimes, to intervene to remove all content posted by the influencer on social networks.
