Oscar-nominated for “Elvis” (2022), actor Austin Butler has become the poster boy for YSL Beauty’s new men’s fragrance, MYSLF. This is the first fragrance from the traditional French brand to launch since 2017. With the signature, Butler joins other YSL Beauty ambassadors such as Lil Nas X, Lenny Kravitz and Zoë Kravitz.
“I was honored to be invited to join the YSL Beauty family,” Butler said in a statement. “Over the last few years, I’ve spoken to people who knew Mr. Saint Laurent. He broke away from labels. He was a rebel, and I love him. I feel privileged to be a part of the legacy he created in motion.”

The spot for the fragrance launch campaign was directed by Julia Ducournau, Palme d’Or-winning director for “Titane” (2021), and will be released on August 22 on YSL Beauty’s Instagram. The press campaign was photographed by New York-based Gray Sorrenti.
“To me, masculinity is best defined by confidence, subtlety, gentleness, and elegance — qualities that Austin embodies,” Sorrenti said. “Working with him was a great experience. He was open-minded, generous and a lot of fun. It was a real pleasure to photograph him.”
