Death of a loved one, loss of a child, quarrel with Daria Moroz: the difficult life of Victoria Isakova

There were two weeks left until graduation at the Moscow Art Theater School. The students were impatient – to a new life, roles, filming. Who will pull out the lucky ticket and become a star? Victoria Isakova was no exception, especially since everything went well in her life. She was lucky not only to enter the course of Oleg Efremov (as it turned out later, these were the last students of the great actor), but also to meet true love.

Victoria Isakova had an affair with her classmate Alexander Chizhevsky. The first feelings turned out to be incredibly strong – the lover practically idolized Victoria, she responded to him with complete reciprocity. Chizhevsky was called the main handsome man on the course – tall, stately, with long hair and a memorable appearance. Everyone was sure that he would definitely break through and become a star. But all this was not destined to happen. Two weeks before graduation, Chizhevsky died tragically – he was hit by a car, the driver of which immediately fled. It all happened at five o’clock in the morning, there were no witnesses.

The student’s body remained in the morgue for a week – there were no documents with it and it was not immediately identified. The monstrous ignorance of the sudden loss of a loved one has turned into an equally terrible realization – he is no more. The graduation ceremony turned into a funeral wake. Here is what Isakova’s classmate Sergei Novikov remembers:

Isakova was very upset by the loss, but the problems didn’t end there. Two years later, she had to leave the Moscow Art Theater – after the death of Oleg Efremov, Oleg Tabakov took over the artistic direction and did not renew contracts with most of Efremov’s former students – he wanted to take his students into the troupe. Movie roles weren’t falling like a cornucopia either – they mostly offered episodes.

It seemed that the harsh reality had covered it with its head and the gap was not expected. Isakova was still in a depressed state of mind when, in 2002, her friend Daria Moroz (when Victoria graduated as an actress, Daria had just become a freshman at the Studio School) introduced her to his father, director Yuri Moroz. It happened in a romantic atmosphere on a ferry across the Volga – Daria was shooting in these parts, and Victoria was rehearsing the play.

Frost himself barely recovered from the tragedy he experienced – in 2000 his beloved wife and mother Daria, actress Marina Levtova, died, without whom he could not imagine life. At first, no one could have thought that this meeting would radically change the lives of all three. A few months later they saw each other again, all three went to a cafe – after that, Yuri and Victoria began to communicate regularly.

The man found himself in a difficult situation, but he did not sacrifice his personal happiness – in 2003, Moroz and Isakova got married. However, the first years of family life became a trial and a real test of strength. At first, the couple found it difficult to get used to their characters and, according to friends, even often argued. Then a real tragedy happened in their house – in 2003, their little girl died of a congenital disease, not having lived even four months. Both found salvation in work, having thrown themselves headlong into it. So they managed to save their marriage.

And then the clouds that seemed to surround Isakov with a dark web finally began to dissipate. Notable roles came to the actress, for example, in 2006 she starred in the film Piranha Hunt, which in many ways became a breakthrough for the young artist. And in 2016, Victoria was able to become a mother for the second time. This time a healthy daughter Varvara was born in the family. Frightened by the first experience, the parents kept the baby’s birth a secret for two years.

Over time, Daria also softened – she accepted her father’s love for his ex-girlfriend and was able to establish relations with her again. Not without little directorial tricks from Moroz himself. He often photographed his wife and daughter in his paintings, so that thanks to the work of his beloved women, they finally managed to get along.
