Movie Previews: See the top films coming this spring

Spring has officially arrived! In the coming months we will have very hot and sunny days in Brazil. But do you know what else we will have in the coming months? Film premieres!

We have therefore separated the main films that arrive between September and December. That is, while spring is upon us. Let’s go!

The Swamp King’s Daughter (September 28)

In “The Swamp King’s Daughter,” Helena (Daisy Ridley) leads a seemingly ordinary life alongside her husband and daughter, but she hides a dark secret: her father is known as the “Swamp King,” and he is the man who held her and her mother prisoner in a swamp for 12 years and has just escaped from prison. However, within a few years, dark secrets, personal disputes and, the greatest danger of all, the arrival of the iPhone, threaten the company’s incredible success.

My Name is Gal (October 19)

The journey of Gal Costa, a shy girl who knew from an early age that music would guide her path. She was raised alone by her mother Mariah, who was one of her biggest supporters. At the age of 20 she decided to go to Rio de Janeiro to become a singer. There the young woman meets her friends from Bahia: Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, Gilberto Gil and Dedé Gadelha, who follow Gal’s first steps into professional music in the late 1960s.

The Assassin (October 26)

According to the official synopsis, released by Netflix, The Killer focuses on a solitary, cold, methodical and unscrupulous killer who awaits his next victim. In the process, the longer he waits, the more he feels like he’s losing his wits.

Mussum the Filmis (November 2)

With the support of celebrities and fate, Antônio (Ailton Graça) became famous with the nickname immortalized in a humor program. This is Mussum’s story, from his impoverished childhood, through his military career and Mangueira samba school, to TV fame. Six Kikito awards at the 2023 Gramado Festival.

The Wonders (9 November)

Carol Danvers, who regained her identity from the tyrannical Kree and took revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, faces the unintended consequences of carrying the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her into an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entwined with those of her Jersey City superfan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and her niece, now SABER astronaut , Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, they must band together and learn to work as a team to save the universe.

The Hunger Games: Song of Birds and Serpents (November 9)

Years before becoming the tyrannical president of Panem, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow sees an opportunity to change his fortunes by becoming a mentor to District 12’s female tribute, Lucy Gray Baird.

Napoleon (23 November)

The origins of the military commander Napoleon and his rapid rise. A look through the prism of his often volatile relationship with his wife and true love, Josephine.

Aristotle and Dante (30 November)

Wonka (December 7)

The new film is based on the iconic character created by Roald Dahl in the 1964 book. However, this time we see a story focused on the young version of Willy Wonka. We will be able, in other words, to follow the adventures preceding the opening of his chocolate factory.

Whoever does it wins (December 14)

The story of the American Samoa national football team who suffered the biggest defeat in history, losing to Australia 31-0 in 2001. As the 2014 World Cup in Brazil approaches, a contradictory and rebellious coach is hired to change the fate of the selection.

Aquaman 2 (December 14)

Aquaman 2 is the sequel to the 2018 film Aquaman, which follows the son of human Tom Curry (Temuera Morrison) and Atlantean Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa). He grows up with the experience of a human and the metahuman abilities of an Atlantean. In this sequel, when an ancient power is unleashed, Aquaman must forge an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally to protect Atlantis and the rest of the world from irreversible devastation.
