The Instituto Vida Livre has launched the ‘Vozes’ campaign, an initiative of the National Congress in support of bill 4.278/2023, aimed at expanding and improving the protection of wild animals. The action counts on the voluntary participation of Xuxa, Glória Pires, Maria Bethânia, Vera Holtz, Dira Paes, Fabiula Nascimento and Agnes Nunes.

Signed by federal deputy Marcelo Queiroz (PP-RJ), the PL aims to improve environmental legislation in favor of the defense of wild animals. Currently, in Brazil, any crime against wildlife, regardless of the degree of cruelty, is considered to have low offensive potential, with null convictions and unfeasible investigations.

The action of the Vida Livre Institute was launched during the charity show Primavera dos Bichos, whose concept bears testimonies of experiences of human suffering, which later turns out to have been experienced by wild animals.

‘Vozes’ was directed by Joana Mariani and Carlos Saldanha. The texts are signed by Roched Seba, creator of the Institute, and Roberto Vitorino. The soundtrack is composed by Maria Gadú.
