The actor and presenter Junno Andrade This Friday the 29th recognized the paternity of Eduardo Tadeu Mattos de Oliveira, 38 years old. The actor was previously sued for R$100,000 for “unlawful conduct” after refusing to submit to a DNA test. With the confirmation of genetic compatibility, Xuxa’s boyfriend said that she intends to bond with her son.

In a statement released by Quem magazine, Junno’s team states that “the scam linked to the doubt about paternity has come to an end”.

“On 09/28/2023, the report of the technical DNA examination attested to the existence of genetic compatibility and, consequently, the paternity of Junno Andrade towards Mr. Eduardo Tadeu Mattos de Oliveira. In the judicial field, the doubt about paternity was extended due to the son’s difficulty in showing up for the laboratory tests previously scheduled by the Mato Grosso Courts”, he specifies in a note.

Juno emphasizes that parenthood “has been in a state of doubt” for more than 30 years, emphasizes that he will “act to recover or adequately accommodate his position as a father” and regrets having lost “the childhood and youth of his son”.

“Overcoming the doubt that arose due to the proposed action in 2020 – the year in which Mr. Eduardo turned 36 -, Junno recognizes and assumes his responsibility as a father and will act to recover or adequately accommodate his position as a father father. Therefore, this note is intended to clarify the facts, and also to regret that Junno was deprived of his son’s childhood and youth,” he informed.

Recognition process

Eduardo Tadeu, Junno’s son and sales promoter, had been trying to gain recognition for almost two years. In 2021 he filed a paternity claim, requesting that the actor’s name be included on his birth certificate, after attempting a DNA test.

There was also a request for compensation for moral damages, in the amount of R$ 100,000. At the time, Eduardo’s lawyer sent a note to columnist Fábia Oliveira stating that “Junno’s illegal conduct (of not carrying out DNA of his own free will) goes further when he promotes paternal discrimination between blood relatives, having close children between their recognition and rights deriving from the exercise of paternity, while Eduardo was removed from this relationship”.

In the year the lawsuit was filed, Eduardo recounted the details of Junno’s relationship with his mother. According to him, the two ended up living together. “He and my mother Isabel dated for a while, they even lived together, but they argued and Junno left for Sao Paulo. We met when I turned 12. Since then he has known of my existence,” he informed.

Junno also spoke out stating that he actually had a romance with Isabel, however, it was short. “I didn’t go out with Isabel. We stayed. Then I met him. He spent about three days at home with us, but he was acting strange and I immediately sent him back to his mother’s house. He doesn’t seem like “Me. In any case, I am willing to take the DNA test and resolve the matter. If he is proven that he is my son, of course I will admit it,” the actor said in 2021.
