Anitta chose her stage name after being sexually abused at the age of 14

Anita he commented on the origin of his stage name in an interview with the Mexican podcast Roberto MTZ – his baptism is Larissa. The singer decided to create this new personality to survive the sexual abuse she suffered at the age of 14.

“I was 14 or 15 when I suffered sexual abuse, and that’s when I invented the person Anitta. Before, I was very naive and behaved in such a way that no man would have the courage to do something like that to me again,” she said.

“Because I would be so strong that no man would dare to abuse me. And this character scared men very much. I created this personality ‘Anitta’ to survive all this”has continued.

“Not every person can come out of a traumatic situation and turn it into something that changed my family’s life, my life, that made me realize my dreams. I don’t want to say that everything I went through was super good , but I’m not the victim of what happened to me”, finished.
