‘Friends’: Friends Mourn Matthew Perry’s Death: ‘Absolutely Devastated’

Friends for decades, the actors of Friends talked about the the death of the actor Matthew Perrywho played the iconic character Chandler Bing. In a joint statement published this Monday 30, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc AND Lisa Kudrow mourned the actor’s death.

“We are all absolutely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. We are family,” read the statement published exclusively on People. “There is so much to say, but right now let’s give ourselves a moment to grieve and process this unimaginable loss.”

“Over time we will talk more, when and how we can,” the statement continues. “For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.”

Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc AND Lisa Kudrow they worked together for 10 years, from 1994 to 2004. In his autobiography, Perry reports that they were friends from the start, with chemistry and deep affection between them, in what was a “dream job”. In 2019, Aniston even opened her Instagram with a selfie of the six of them.

When Matthew was in critical moments with his alcoholism and substance addiction, during the recordings, his colleagues supported him – and it was Lisa, after all, who wrote the preface to the work.

“He survived the impossible, but until today I had no idea how many times he had a narrow escape. I’m happy you’re still here, Matty. Congratulations. I love you,” Lisa signed.

The actor was found dead on Saturday evening, the 28th, in his home in Los Angeles, according to what was reported by the international press, inside a hot tub. He was 54 years old.
