The influencer Carlinhos Maia has been accused by internet users of being involved in alleged crimes committed by the digital bank Girabank, of which he was a partner. The topic was among the most discussed on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday 23rd. With the backlash, the influencer spoke out.

Through Instagram stories, Carlinhos Maia reported that he had no longer been a member of the company for “almost a year” and denied that there were any irregularities with the bank.

“One important thing about Girabank: As many of you already know, I left the company almost a year ago, precisely because every time there was a problem, people came to beat me. A million good things could happen, but there were problems…”, he began.

According to Carlinhos, the company has issued a note to all account holders. “Girabank, as far as I know, according to what the other shareholders told me, has been sold to another American group,” he added.

Furthermore, out of “affection for the people”, because he himself recommended the bank, Carlinhos left the message: “Don’t worry, they won’t steal anyone’s money”.

“There is a change of owners and there is no way that someone’s money will be stolen, because it can’t be stolen, it involves the Central Bank and everything. Don’t worry, look at your email, okay? They are sorting everything out” , he concluded.
