‘Saltburn’ Oscar snub? Discover the controversial film excluded from the awards

The film which went viral on TikTok due to shocking scenes was not included in the list of nominees for the award

Last Tuesday (23rd) we finally discovered the list of Oscar 2024 nominees. However, many people were not happy when they noticed that the controversial film “Saltburn” was not present. After all, the film starring Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi generated the greatest interest on social media thanks to its plot.

In the story we follow the loner Oliver (Keoghan) and the billionaire Felix (Elordi). The two become friends at college and one day Felix decides to invite his new colleague to spend the holidays at his house in the Saltburn region. However, in addition to encountering a somewhat cartoonish setting inside the Cattons’ summer home, macabre things begin to happen to the family.

“Saltburn” gained attention after going viral on TikTok. This is because, at various moments, absurd – and relatively explicit – scenes are played by actor Barry Keoghan. Furthermore, the story constantly leaves you on the edge of the couch not knowing how to react. It’s worth watching!

However, despite its success with audiences, the film didn’t make it very far in the Oscar race. After all, its two big bets – Rosamund Pike for best supporting actress and Emerald Fennell for best director – didn’t materialize.

Finally, it’s worth noting that, even outside of the Oscars, you can still watch “Saltburn” on Prime Video.
