What Clodovil’s luxurious life was like when he worked at RedeTV

In recent days the press has reported that the Court has prohibited the demolition of Clodovil Hernandes’ villa in Ubatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo.

Built in an environmental conservation area, the property was sold at auction six years ago. At the top of a hill and overlooking the sea, the structure was the scene of frenetic parties promoted by the presenter.

The artist’s last major television phase was between November 2003 and April 2005, when he hosted ‘A Casa é Sua’ on RedeTV afternoons.

Between a fixed salary and commissions for merchandising shares, he received around R$150,000 a month. He was driving a gray Mercedes with a chauffeur. The car didn’t belong to him, he paid for the service.

He lived in rent in a 100m2 ground floor apartment on Avenida República do Belgio, facing Ibirapuera Park, in the Moema neighborhood. Today, a property is worth R$2.2 million.

She spent some of her money on custom-made clothes and jewelry. He loved diamond earrings, gemstone rings and imported watches. Another fraction was invested in aesthetics.

In a famous plastic surgery clinic he underwent a facelift (facial stretching to reduce the signs of aging), otoplasty (correction of ‘protruding ears’), removal of fat bags under the eyes, liposuction on the abdomen and fat graft in the abdomen. ass.

In the former headquarters of RedeTV, in Barueri, Greater São Paulo, Clodovil’s dressing room was full of gift packages. It has been well looked after by renowned brands.

Avowedly elitist, he accepted absolutely nothing. He once complained on air about a German Montblanc pen he received from the station’s owners. For any ordinary mortal it would be a gift, but the presenter said that she deserved better.

It was precisely because he did not mince his words that the presenter lost his good life on the channel. During a recording break in the studio, he told anyone who would listen that a presenter in the house – the girlfriend of one of the TV partners – would end her days “as a porn actress”.

The indiscretion has leaked. A few hours later, Clodovil received a fax announcing his resignation. Subsequently there was a program without repercussions on TVJB, a channel that lasted a few months.

He died in March 2009, aged 71, of a stroke, in Brasilia, where he was serving his first term as a federal deputy. In his long television career he also worked for Globo, Band, Manchete, CNT, TV Gazeta and Rede Mulher.
