Last Wednesday, the 20th, the former player was granted the right to await the outcome of his conviction for rape. The Barcelona court has announced that it has accepted the request made by the defense of the former player convicted of rape on bail of 1 million euros (around 5.4 million reais).

The general assumption, including that of Spanish newspapers, was that Neymar and his family would again provide the money to help the convicted former player.

At the beginning of the trial, Neymar and his father helped the former player by paying 150,000 euros (about R$809,000 at current prices), requested by the courts as compensation to the victim of the sexual assault case. This payment even served as a mitigating factor to reduce the sentence to four and a half years.

In the note published on his Instagram, the entrepreneur stated that he had previously helped Daniel Alves, but that the matter today “is no longer ours to deal with”. “For my family the matter is closed,” he concluded.
