Claudia Alencar is transferred to the rehabilitation department

Claudia Alencar73 years old, hospitalized since December 17th in a hospital in the south of Rio de Janeiro due to a bacterial infection, has been transferred to a rehabilitation department, her consultant told the press on Thursday 28th.

The actress was diagnosed with post-systemic infection myofascial syndrome and her spine was affected, she underwent lumbar spine surgery, was intubated and even stopped walking. But this month she has shown significant improvements and the medical team believes the actress should return to her daily activities within 30 days.

She is under the care of an interdisciplinary team with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nutritionist and nurses, following a program to control pain and regain muscle strength, aiming for full independence and return to daily activities. Hospitalization and recovery

Claudia Alencar was hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro, on December 17 last year, due to a bacterial infection. On Sunday the 24th she underwent surgery on her lumbar spine and the operation was successful, but her health condition was still serious. “It’s difficult, but she’s a true warrior,” she said Estadao Yann Hatchuel, son of the actress.

After the operation, Claudia presented a “clinical worsening” with generalized infection and unstable blood pressure. According to hospital information, Claudia remained sedated and subjected to mechanical ventilation. She also underwent therapy with broad-spectrum antibiotics.

On the morning of Tuesday 26th the actress was extubated. “Her condition is still serious and she remains in intensive care, but clinical tests continue to show improvements. We still have to wait for the results of the new cultures, which should be available in three days,” her son said.

On December 30, Yann Hatchuel, the actress’ son, revealed that her health had worsened and “she’s no longer walking right now.”

Seventy days later, on March 11, Cláudia’s team revealed that she had shown significant improvement. “The actress has seen significant improvements in the recovery process from the disease which, according to doctors, is a myofascial syndrome post-systemic infection, in which the spinal column has also been affected by a neuralgic component”, she reads in the statement. from which it also emerged that the artist had started walking again about three weeks ago.

Claudia Alencar did a series of works on TV in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. One of her most notable characters was Laura, in Tieta (1989), written by Aguinaldo Silva and based on the classic of the same name by Bahian writer Jorge Amado.
