Content creators Kel Ferreti and Igor Campioni were taken off a Latam plane at Sao Paulo International Airport, Guarulhos, on Thursday 25th, to provide clarification to the Federal Police after a joke about “dropping a bomb” on the plane .

On social media, Ferreti commented on the case, underlining that it was just a prank from his friend when he went to the bathroom. Campioni joked to other passengers at the time that he was “about to drop a bomb” referring to a “fart bomb”.

Ferreti said a flight attendant overheard the prank and, despite knowing it wasn’t actually an explosive, asked the influencer’s friend ‘not to do that kind of prank’ on the plane.

Because of the prank, the Federal Police was called to investigate the situation of the two passengers. Ferreti said that, upon returning from the restroom, the flight attendant asked him for his boarding pass. In the interview with the PF the two explained the joke and were subsequently released.

By then the flight had been delayed by more than two and a half hours. According to him, the commissioner informed that the delay had to do with resolving system issues.

In a note sent to Earth, Latam reported that the plane and baggage were inspected by federal police officers and that the flight had to be canceled for “exceeding the crew travel limit.” Again according to the airline, the procedure adopted follows the safety measures for the danger of explosives on board.
