Pedro Bial opens up about the first editions of BBB: “Nobody believed it”

Pedro Bial commanded the “Big Brother Brazil” for the first 16 seasons of the reality show on TV Globo. In an interview with Podcast Mamilos, he said that the broadcaster did not really believe in the success of the program.

He also revealed which edition is his favorite: “‘Big Brother Brasil 10’ was incredible. It had extraordinary characters and, for me, it was the best edition I presented… He was a very controversial figure, because he spoke in the name of honor, of virility. He was a a little scary, with a more associated speech, and he won”He said.

“The format was contested by Globo and SBT. SBT didn’t pay and aired ‘A Casa dos Artistas,’ which was a success. And then the empire fought back. Globo bought the format and needed to someone who would lead that presentation, someone who knew how to do live television and who could also talk to people in confinement”he revealed.

A phenomenon

“I swear, no one believed that this phenomenon would happen. I heard from the management in 2002: ‘let’s do the second edition soon to squeeze the pulp out of this orange… I realized that I was experiencing this phenomenon only on ‘BBB5’ , which Jean Wyllys won”he revealed.
