The first debate of the 2024 US presidential race brought Joe Biden and Donald Trump face to face this Thursday 27, at CNN studios in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the first time that a sitting president and a former president debated in the United States.

While Trump has avoided answering questions and maintained a combative stance, Biden has adopted a more hesitant stance, with occasionally incoherent speeches that have reignited concerns about the Democrat’s physical and cognitive ability to run for re-election.

The debate has also been a topic on social media, generating memes, comments from supporters, critics and some celebrities, such as author Stephen King and singer Barbra Streisand.
