Indirect? Camilla references Princess Diana during Wimbledon appearance

Queen Camilla has attracted attention after allegedly paying tribute to Princess Diana during her appearance at Wimbledon last Wednesday (10). That’s because, during one of the matches of the English tennis championship, the current wife of King Charles III showed up with the former princess’s favorite accessory: the Lady Dior bag.

Princess Diana was responsible for popularizing the gray bag. It was such a success that the model’s nickname became a tribute to her. Although it has already been seen on several celebrities, this is the first time Queen Camilla has used the bag.

The first time Princess Diana wore the famous Dior bag was when she received it as a gift from Madame Bernadette Chirac in 1995. After using the accessory so much, Dior decided to rename it Lady Dior.

Queen Camilla did not receive greetings from players at last year’s competition

A Queen Camilla made its debut on Wimbledonin 2023. However, many were intrigued to note that none of the athletes made reference to the Queen Consort, as they did when Queen Elizabeth II attended the events.

At the tennis match, Queen Camilla sat in the royal box, accompanied by her sister Annabel Elliot and Prince Albert of Monaco. Following the tradition of the English championship, Camilla wore a long-sleeved white dress with navy blue details, a beige bag, pearl earrings and gold jewellery.

But why didn’t any of the players bow to the Queen after all? In 2003, the Duke of Kent imposed a rule that players would no longer need to bow or do the famous royal curtsy when entering or leaving the field. But there were exceptions! Athletes would still need to worship the “sovereign and her success.” So in this case, King Charles III and his son Prince William. In other words, not the case with Camilla, who is Queen Consort.
