Silvio Santo left everyone worried on the night of Tuesday, July 16, when he was rushed to the Albert Einstein Hospital, in the south of São Paulo. At 93 years old, the SBT owner underwent several tests, given his advanced age, and was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.




In a statement, the broadcaster’s press office confirmed to the newspaper Folha de São Paulo that Silvio is fine, but did not reveal further details. However, in a note sent to Extra, the department denied hospitalization. “The information about Silvio’s hospitalization is unfounded. He is fine”they said.

Who is Silvio’s disease?

Nevertheless, the speaker’s diagnosis was confirmed: it was H1N1 influenza, which is a variant of the influenza virus responsible for swine flu, which can also be called influenza A.

According to the information, the disease is a strong version of the flu, with possible symptoms: fever; Cough; Runny nose; Sore throat; Muscle pain; Headache; Malaise; Irritation in the eyes; Lack of appetite; Shortness of breath; Chills; Tiredness and fatigue; Vomiting, nausea and diarrhea.
