Pedro Cardoso expressed discomfort over the post-death situation of Silvio Santos

Peter Cardoso took to social media to criticize recent tributes paid to Silvio Santos, who died last Saturday (17) at the age of 93. The actor claimed that the presenter was a collaborator of the military dictatorship in Brazil, and that his fortune was not the result of merit, but of “ethical weaknesses”.




In his post, the actor, known for his role as Augustine Carrara in the series The Big Familyof Globo, begins by saying: “He served the torturing military dictatorship of ’61, ’64, ’68. The dictatorship that killed people who opposed it, as all dictatorships do.”he stressed.

Despite the criticism, Pedro Cardoso wanted to separate his opinion from the pain of the families of the honorees. “But when death seems to automatically redeem the perpetrators of abuse in Brazil, I feel offended.”he said.

The actor claimed that both Silvio Santos and Delphim Netto They became rich thanks to their support for the military regime, and not because of their intellectual qualities. “Silvio and Delfim were employees of the military dictatorship. They became rich because they served it”criticized.
