Ivete Sangalo I enjoyed the weekend before another performance at the Rock in Rio see his son in a grassroots soccer match in Salvador (BA). Marcelo Cady, 14, took the field in the Copa Unidos pela Garotada.

Despite the boys’ team’s 4-3 comeback defeat, the singer showed pride when talking about the match and the championship. The matches were played on a pitch adjacent to Barradão, the stadium of Vitória, the artist’s team.

“Sport is wonderful. Seeing these guys together, playing sports and creating bonds. It’s the World Cup, everyone is united by sport. Sport is something that transforms lives. I’m very proud of it, of the team, of the opposing team and of these guys,” Ivete told the competitor’s profile.

Even after the defeat, Marcelo was not discouraged about the continuation of the competition, which brings together the teams of Salvador and Lauro de Freitas: “The match was good at the beginning, but the boys let it go a bit. Let’s continue like this, there is more.”
