Official Synopsis of “I’m Still Here”

Rio de Janeiro, early 1970s. The country faces the hardening of the military dictatorship. We are at the center of a family, the Paiva family: Rubens, Eunice and their five children. They live in front of the beach, in a house with doors open to friends. One day, plainclothes soldiers take Rubens Paiva and he disappears. Eunice, whose search for the truth about her husband’s fate will last decades, is forced to reinvent herself and chart a new future for herself and her children. Based on the biographical book by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, the moving story of this family has helped redefine the history of the country.
