At Globo he conducted very successful auditorium programs, “Cassino do Chacrinha”, in fact, was the main musical showcase of the 80s. he died of myocardial infarction and respiratory failure. If he were alive, he would have turned 108 this Monday (30).

“Cassino do Chacrinha” was an auditorium program with musical attractions and a freshman show. Furthermore, he was responsible for many unforgettable moments in the history of Brazilian television, marked, above all, as the first program of the great presenter’s return to the small screen.

The program became known for its rustic and laid-back format. This is because it was common for camera assistants, costumes, rain of confetti, excited audience and intense movement of artists and performers on stage to appear in the video.

Without a doubt, one of the most striking features of the presenter, in addition to his unique sense of humor, were his unique catchphrases. This is because, during his guests’ performances, Chacrinha never stopped saying “hello”, “aea” “terezinha uh-uh”, bringing his contagious energy to the stage.

In fact, what few people know is that one of his most famous catchphrases “Terezinha Uh-uh” came from an advertisement for bleach. Since he began his career as a radio announcer, Chacrinha has sought advertiser support for his shows.

In addition to the slogans, each program had unique creativity in costumes. This is because Chacrinha has already appeared dressed as a bride, Santa Claus, with clothes full of sequins, colors and, last but not least, her eye-catching hats.
