The lack of clear parameters and the weight of social expectations make us believe that we must maintain a stable image, even at the expense of our own well-being,” he wrote.

“The decision to separate and take protective measures was not an easy one, but it was necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of myself and my children. These measures were never intended to separate fathers and children, but to protect them. Two separate judicial proceedings have been underway for more than a year, both under judicial secrecy: one in the family court and the other in the court for domestic and family violence against women. These processes are essential and, by law, must remain confidential, which has always been a priority for me, with the aim of protecting ALL parties involved, especially my children,” she says.

Mariana further stated that, temporarily, she has sole custody of the children and that the decision was made to protect the physical and psychological integrity of the children until legal requirements are met and face-to-face interaction with the father.

“In the criminal field there is a protection measure that must be respected to guarantee my physical and mental safety. I have strictly followed all legal rules, respecting every step of the process to ensure that it unfolds as planned and that a fair and final decision is reached. When the father of my children meets the requirements set by the court, he will have the right to see them in person. At this moment he has the right to communicate with children on a daily basis, even if he does not always do so: a right protected by justice. I know that many women suffer this type of judgment, on and off the Internet,” she complained.
