Shawn Mendes spoke about his sexuality during a performance of the “For Friends and Family Tour” on Monday, 28, a Denverin the state of Colorado, United States. According to the artist, he “failed” to discover some parts of himself, as he has worked – and had a public life – since he was very young.

“I think it’s a little silly because I think sexuality is a wonderfully complex thing and it’s so hard to put it into boxes. And I’ve always thought that [os rumores] They are an intrusion into something very personal about me,” he said.

The singer, who is constantly the subject of discussion about his sexuality, made the comment right before singing his new song “The Mountain”which addresses these speculations.

“Some days I change my mind. You can say what you need to say. You can say I’m too young, I’m too old. You can say I like girls or boys, whatever fits your mold,” Letter says.

During the show, he told the audience that the song was a way to explain what he “feels in his heart”. “The truth about my life and my sexuality is, man, I’m discovering myself just like everyone else and sometimes I don’t know, but other times I know,” he said.
