What did Olga Ostroumova look like at the beginning of her career – the main beauty of the USSR!

Today, Olga Ostroumova is mainly a serial actress (not counting theatrical works, of course). Many recognized her and fell in love with her thanks to the role of Andrei Zhdanov’s mother in the TV series Don’t Be Born Beautiful. And this generation is unlikely to remember or know what she looked like at the start of her career.

However, in the 70s, Olga was famous for her much brighter roles. So, the audience remembers her from the cult film “… The Dawns Here Are Quiet”, where Ostroumova played Zhenya Komelkova. Millions of Soviet citizens admired the beauty of the actress, holding their breath and worrying about the fate of her heroine.

No less than the audience liked the films “Vasily and Vasilisa”, “Fate”, “Love of the Earth”, “There was no sadness” and many others. Olga Ostroumova overnight became the main beauty of the USSR. There was no end to the admirers.

But the heart of the actress herself then belonged to another. At the height of her fame, she married a second time – her chosen one Mikhail Levitin, a theater director and writer. The couple lived together for over 20 years, but separated in the 90s. Ostroumova lived the next quarter century with Valentin Gaft (d. 2020).
