The first trans in a reality show in Brazil complains about the censorship of mouth kisses on SBT

Interviewed by Paula Ferreira on ‘QueenCast’, actress Bianca Soares recalled the most controversial moment of her time in ‘Casa dos Artistas – Protagonista de Novela’, in 2004.

“I went there, kissed the guy and they didn’t air my test,” he complained. The kiss on the mouth of another participant, the dentist Allê Manas, in an interpretation test was not actually shown by decision of the SBT commission.

At the time the public knew that Bianca was a transsexual, however the information was not revealed to the tenants of the house. She says she felt hurt.

“The ‘Casa dos Artistas’ wanted to bring me down anyway. Instead of humanizing (first) the figure of LGBT people, they immediately introduced the kiss test,” he analyzes.

“When I entered ‘Casa dos Artistas’ there wasn’t even a gay kiss on television. Our only reference was Roberta Close, who never wanted to join the army or talk about transsexuals and transvestites in Brazil. He was an icon, a celebrity, super pop, but he always remained in Europe.”

Poor performance in the kiss scene that wasn’t shown left Bianca Soares in a corner and she was eliminated. “I wasn’t showing off the way everyone vulgarized trans people. No one imagined that a trans or transvestite could simply be a family girl, an artist. Everyone just wanted to argue: the journalists, the haters of the time,” he complains.

His departure, which was an attraction in the reality show, had an impact on the public. He eventually returned for a cameo. “Silvio Santos himself called me,” he reports. The actress believes that the prejudice led to her early elimination. “If you are a drag queen, a gay, a lesbian, it is easier than us transvestites and trans women.”

Famously, Bianca Soares has recorded films for adults, including acting with another former Casa dos Artistas, Alexandre Frota, and played Dona Bráulia in the show “O Infeliz” on “Show do Tom”, on Record.

She claims to have already been invited to participate in ‘A Fazenda’, directed by Rodrigo Carelli, who also hosted the reality show on SBT. “I don’t know if I’ll accept it,” he says. In 2024 Bianca ran for municipal councilor in the city of São Paulo for the PDT. It had 95 votes.
