Influencer and singer Jojo Todynho files a police complaint against an internet user for racist crimes

This Wednesday (22/1), the influencer Jojo Todynho he went to Decradi (police station for racial crimes and intolerance), in Rio de Janeiro, to formalize a complaint about racist attacks received on social media. The artist took the opportunity to reinforce the importance of seeking justice: “Run for your rights”, he stated.
In recent weeks, Jojo Todynho denounced situations of racism faced on social media. One specific case involved a comment in which the Internet user Soraya Barroso used offensive terms, including prejudicial suggestions such as “eat a banana”. The influencer’s lawyer, Josè Estevam Macedo Limaclarified that the messages not only damage the artist’s honor but also constitute a crime of racism, as recorded at the police station. He highlighted: “Publications of this type violate constitutional precepts and must be treated as criminal practices.”
During his trip to the police station, Jojo Todynho he made a point of sharing a message with his followers. According to her, it is essential to understand that justice exists to prevent this type of behavior: “Brazilian justice may take time, but it is there to be served.”Jojo he also took the opportunity to encourage victims of discrimination not to remain silent. He stressed that, even without harboring resentment, it is necessary to fight against speech that can cause emotional damage: “Words hurt, even when we don’t take them to heart.”
The case of Jojo Todynho highlights the importance of combating racial intolerance, especially in digital spaces. Decradi, a body specializing in racism and discrimination crimes, received the influencer’s formal complaint and started investigations.
