In the 90s, almost every model could boast of having had an affair with a rock star. Naomi Campbell and U2 bassist Adam Clayton, Cindy Crawford and Jon Bon Jovi, Stephanie Seymour and Axl Rose of Guns N Roses.

And Helena Christensen cut the main crush of those years – INXS soloist Michael Hutchence. Fascinated by the Danish model, the musician finally broke another heart – Kylie Minogue. Due to the betrayal of her boyfriend, the singer fell into depression.

Helena and Michael started dating in the early 90s, it was a passionate romance full of scandals, breakups and reconciliations. Naturally, quickly sorting out the relationship and being one of America’s most spectacular couples, these two haven’t left the front pages of the tabloids.

The roller coaster of the relationship benefited both: she began to receive more and more modeling offers, and her music career quickly rose through the ranks.

They looked great with each other. “Helen is awesome. Incredible skin, fantastic eyes, plus she’s a Depeche Mode fan. She can talk about it for hours,” Hutchence said of his beloved.

They lived together in France and Denmark, while the whole world was talking about their romance. In August 1992, in Copenhagen, lovers, rather drunk, strolled through the streets. At one point, Helena tried to put her boyfriend in a taxi, he resisted: then the taxi driver got involved, a fight started, as a result of which Michael fell and hit his head on the asphalt, breaking his skull.

Subsequently, Christensen noted that this injury affected Hutchence’s psychological state: he suffered from depression and uncontrolled aggression. The model tried to help her lover, but her mood swings and outbursts became too unpredictable and dangerous.

And after five years of romance, they broke up. The musician immediately began an affair with Paula Yates, who gave birth to his daughter Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence in 1996. They say it was Paula who divorced Michael from Helena.

Be that as it may, without Christensen Hutchence could no longer be, and a few months later, in November 1997, at the age of 37, he committed suicide. A mixture of drugs, drugs and alcohol was found in his blood.

Years later, in the documentary Mystify: Michael Hutchence, Helena Christensen described her relationship with Michael as “joyful, sweet, deep and emotional, marked by absolute psychological and physical chemistry”.
