Marvel boss Kevin Feige sent a message of support and solidarity to “Batgirl” directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah after the film was shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery.
El Arbi shared the message on his Instagram Stories, thanking him for the affection.
“My friends, I had to get in touch and let you know that we are all thinking of you two,” Feige wrote to Arbi and Fallah. “Because of the wonderful wedding news (congratulations!) And the disappointing news about ‘Batgirl’. I’m so proud of you and all the amazing work you do and especially ‘Ms. Marvel’ of course! I can’t wait to hear from you! See what’s for you. Hope to see you soon. “
“Thank you brother Kevin,” El Arbi replied.
Their relationship with Feige was established when they directed two episodes of the “Ms. Marvel” series for Disney +.
Both directors were in Morocco for El Arbi’s wedding when they learned the bad news of her work on “Batgirl”.
In addition to Feige, several other colleagues intervened who thanked the messages on Instagram.
“Thank you for all the messages of support in the world,” wrote El Arbi. “A hug to directors Edgar Wright and James Gunn, their kind words and experiences have meant so much and helped us through this difficult time.”
