Movie Tips: Check out 10 Father’s Day tips




We have prepared a list of 10 movie options that parents and children can watch this Sunday (14/8) when celebrating Father’s Day.

The list has a little bit of everything from classics to contemporary, with country stars, tennis stars, fathers who dress up as women, and even zombie fathers.

In other words, a film for parents with a variety of styles. Watch.

| 2 SONS OF FRANCISCO | GLOBOPLAY

A cinebiography by country duo Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, this national production focuses on the duo’s father, Francisco Camargo (played by Ângelo Antônio, from “Chico Xavier”), and the efforts he has made to ensure the success of his children.

The storyline covers the singers’ lives from childhood to early success, always focusing on their relationship with their father. It was the father who bought the first musical instruments and who always encouraged them, spending his entire salary on phone cards to call the radio and ask to play his children’s music.

Directed by the late Breno Silveira (“Between Sisters”), the film also features Márcio Kieling (“Maverick: Hunt in Brazil”), Thiago Mendonça (“Somos So Young”), Dira Paes (“Divino Amor”), Lima Duarte ( “The Other Side of Heaven”), Paloma Duarte (from the series “Se Eu Fosse Você”), José Dumont (“Tungstenio”), Natália Lage (“A Grande Família”) and Jackson Antunes (“Carcereiros: O Movie” “).

| THE SHOT THAT DID NOT BACKUP | VOD *

Don’t be fooled by the bad national title. The comedy directed by Ron Howard (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”) is one of the great films about parenthood and family relationships.

The storyline shows the problems the Buckman family faces in their daily lives: pressures at work, raising teenagers, gambling addiction and much more. All this revolves around the figure of the big dad Gil (played by Steve Martin, from “Only Murders in the Building”), who tries to balance all the responsibilities of him, but not always succeeding.

The great cast also includes Keanu Reeves (“Matrix Resurrections”), Mary Steenburgen (“Nightmare Alley”), Dianne Wiest (“Life in Pieces”), Jason Robards (“Magnolia”), Rick Moranis (from the classic “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids “), Martha Plimpton (” The Goonies “) and young Joaquin Phoenix (” Joker “).

Director Ron Howard made the film based on his own family experiences. He later expanded the project into a TV series (titled “Parenthood: A Family Story”), which aired for six seasons, from 2010 to 2015, on the American channel NBC.

The Australian horror production “Cargo” is set in a world ravaged by zombie contamination. The plot follows a father (played by Martin Freeman, from “The Hobbit” trilogy) who is infected and needs to find someone to take care of his newborn daughter before she transforms.

On his journey through the Australian deserts, he befriends an Aboriginal child and needs to escape from a group that hunts zombies.

The film is an adaptation of a short film of the same name, directed by Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke. The duo was also commissioned to direct the film and won the trophy for best screenplay by the Australian Screen Writers Guild.

| A MAN OF THE FAMILY | AMAZON PRIME VIDEO, GLOBOPLAY

“A Family Man” follows a boy (Nicolas Cage, from “The Weight of Talent”) who is successful at his job but leads a lonely life. One day he wakes up and finds himself living another life. In this new life, he hasn’t abandoned his old girlfriend. Instead, they built a family together.

The film explores the character’s relationship with this new situation. At first, he wants to go back to his old life and escape the responsibilities of raising children. But little by little, he begins to fall in love with that life and becomes a real family man.

The cast also includes Téa Leoni (“Madam Secretary”), Don Cheadle (“Avengers: Endgame”), Jeremy Piven (“Mr Selfridge”) and Saul Rubinek (“Hunters”). Directed by Brett Ratner (“Hercules”).

| AN ALMOST PERFECT BABYSITTER | DISNEY +

An absolute classic of the afternoon session, “A Almost Perfect Nanny” tells the story of a recently divorced actor (Robin Williams, from “The Crazy Ones”) who has lost custody of his children.

Deciding to spend more time with the children (even if he is forbidden to do so), he disguises himself as an elderly lady and finds work as a babysitter for his children.

The cast also includes Sally Field (“Lincoln”), Pierce Brosnan (“Mamma Mia! Here we go again”) and Harvey Fierstein (“Independence Day”). Chris Columbus (“Home Alone”) is directing.

KING RICHARD: CREATING CHAMPIONS | HBO MAX and VOD *

Will Smith (“Suicide Squad”) won his haunted Oscar for giving birth to his father’s perseverance that made the success of sisters Venus and Serena Williams possible. The uplifting drama shows how Richard Williams (Smith) fought tenaciously against all racial expectations to turn his daughters into the world’s first black tennis world champions.

Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (“Monsters and Men”), the film received 90% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and won a total of 48 international awards.

The cast also includes Aunjanue Ellis (“If Beale Street Could Talk”), Saniyya Sidney (“The First Lady”), Demi Singleton (“The Godfather of Harlem”), Jon Bernthal (“Punisher”) and Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal “).

| PAPER MOON | AMAZON VIDEO FIRST

Peter Bogdanovich’s classic (“The Last Movie Session”) is set in the 1930s, during America’s Great Depression, and follows Moses, a con man who travels from town to town beating up widows.

At one point, his path crosses with Addie, an orphan, daughter of a prostitute. Since Moses had already been involved with Addie’s mother, there was a possibility that he was the girl’s real father. But he doesn’t want to take that responsibility. Instead, Moses takes it upon himself to take Addie to her aunt’s house. Halfway through, however, the girl begins to help him with her fists, and the bond becomes inexorable.

The drama stars Ryan O’Neal (“Love Story”) and his daughter, Tatum O’Neal, who, at the age of 10 and in her first role, became the youngest performer to win an Oscar of all. the times as best supporting actress for this work.

Comedy starring Adam Sandler (“Uncut Gems”), “Daddy’s” follows a boy who has spent his entire life running away from his responsibilities. Determined to show his ex-girlfriend that he’s mature, he makes an unusual decision: to adopt a child.

One day, Sullivan’s wife and one of his children are killed and he escapes with his surviving son. Father and son work side by side, thus starting a fraternal relationship that did not exist before. As they flee, the two also begin their plan of revenge against the man who caused their family’s death.

“Road to Perdition” is directed by Sam Mendes (“1917”) and its large cast also includes Paul Newman (“Running the Past”), Jude Law (The New Pope), Daniel Craig (“No Time For Die”) , Stanley Tucci (“The Witches Convention”) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (“The Hateful Eight”).

| dad’s daycare | NETFLIX, FIRST VIDEO, STAR +

Starring Eddie Murphy (“A Prince in New York 2”), “Daddy’s Daycare” follows a boy who has been fired from his job. Without finding a new job, he decides to open his daycare to take care of his young son and earn some more money.

The problem is that the project works and he begins to welcome more and more children to take care of. And that’s when he realizes the big flaw in his plan: he has no idea how to run a daycare or how to take care of the children.

Directed by Steve Carr (“The Worst Years of My Life”), the film stars alongside Jeff Garlin (“Hold On”), Anjelica Huston (“Smash”), Steve Zahn (“The White Lotus”) and Regina King (“If Beale Street Could Talk”).
