The cause of Diane Keaton’s death was revealed on Wednesday the 15th in a statement sent by the actress’ family to the magazine People. The Oscar winner died on the 11th at the age of 79 due to pneumonia.

The artist’s relatives also thanked her for the demonstrations of affection towards the artist. “The Keaton family is so grateful for all the amazing messages of love and support they have received over the past few days in light of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11.”

The family also took the opportunity to comment on the causes supported by the actress. “She loved her animals and was a constant advocate for homeless animals. So any donations in her memory to local shelters or food banks would be a wonderful and very admirable tribute to her.”

Diane Keaton’s death was announced last Saturday, aged 11. The actress was 79 years old, was rescued at home and taken to hospital, where she died.

In an interview with Peoplea family spokesperson said that Diane’s death was unexpected and that the artist’s health deteriorated markedly in the final days of his life.

Best known for her role in romantic comedies and films by director Woody Allen, Diane Keaton also received an Oscar for Neurotic groom, nervous bride (1977).
