Presenter William Bonner shared a small but significant change he made to his routine after leaving the helm of Jornal Nacional, following a 29-year history with the news program. This Sunday, the 2nd, he turned off the alarm on his cell phone which was ringing at 8pm, the time he should have gone to the studio to prepare for Globo’s live broadcast.

Every day the Jornal Nacional is broadcast at 8.30pm, except on Wednesdays, when there are football matches and changes in the station’s schedule. In the caption of the screenshot of the alarm going off, Bonner wrote, “Most frequent and most disrespected.”

The comments were filled with messages wishing Bonner success in his new professional phase. Released by JN, he should debut in the Globo Repórter presentation in February next year, alongside Sandra Annenberg.

Other people also commented on the relief Bonner must have felt after turning off the alarm. “The warrior’s rest”, wrote the journalist Gustavo Villani, also from Globo.
