Actor Sylvester Stallone says his new Rottweiler is not to blame for the end of his 25-year marriage to former model Jennifer Flavin.
“We have not ended the relationship with such a trivial topic,” he assured the TMZ site, which pointed to the dog as the last straw for the divorce.
Stallone confirmed that there were different opinions on how to care for the dog, as he travels a lot for work and has homes in different places, such as Los Angeles and Palm Beach, but says that wasn’t the problem. “We just went in different directions,” he explained.
Despite the denial, TMZ kept its findings that the dog discussion sparked many more questions about the relationship, which resulted in an intense heated confrontation.
The situation would have worsened because the actor decided to take the dog even in the face of his wife’s protests. He called him Dwight, the name of his character in the new “Tulsa King” series, and shared photos and videos with the animal on social media: “So incredibly happy with my newly acquired four-legged friend. ‘Dwight’, my character name from the series, keep barking! “
In addition, the 76-year-old actor also decided to cover his wife’s facial tattoo, which he had on his right arm, with an image of his late dog Butkus, with whom he worked in the movie “Rocky”. The tattoo change was reported by the Daily Mail on Monday (22/8).
The tattoo artist in charge of the work had even celebrated the result, with an Instagram post, but decided to remove the post when asked why Flavin’s face had been covered.
When questioned by TMZ, Stallone said he had had his wife’s tattoo for 14 years and wanted to renew it, but the repair went bad and his dog image cover was just a no-nonsense fix. He adds that he still has a large Flavin tattoo on his back.
But it seems that the excuse did not convince Flavin, who stopped following Stallone on social media and, a few days ago, shared a photo embracing his three daughters, Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20, writing to side: “These girls are my priority. Nothing else matters. The four of us forever.”
Officially, the split was motivated by financial disagreements.
According to the divorce papers, revealed by TMZ, Flavin claims Stallone transferred funds from the couple without their authorization. The document argues that the plaintiff “engaged in the intentional dissipation, exhaustion and / or waste of marital assets that had a negative economic impact on the marital inheritance.”
Stallone and Jennifer have been together since 1997 and celebrated their silver anniversary last May. Stallone at the time was all praise and joy for her marriage. “Happy 25th anniversary to my amazing wife. There aren’t enough words to describe what this incredibly selfless, devoted and patient woman means to our lives, and I just wish we had 25 more! Thank you so much dear,” she said. in honor of the time.
After the confirmation of the end of the marriage, Stallone’s rep relayed a message from the actor, saying, “I love my family. We are handling these personal matters in a friendly and private way.”
