What Jackie Kennedy lost to Nina Khrushcheva, despite her sense of style

Jackie Kennedy and Nina Khrushcheva are often compared – not in favor of the latter. But in vain!

What Jackie Kennedy lost to Nina Khrushcheva, despite her sense of style

Nina Kukharchuk, who later married Nikita Khrushchev and became Nina Khrushcheva, is the first “first lady” of our country. The years in this status coincided with a similar position in the society of the first lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy.

Women are constantly compared and most often it is Nina Petrovna who loses. The criteria are the silhouette and the sense of style: Kennedy in this sense is slimmer, more elegant and more fashionable. Yes, and she looks much neater.

You can’t argue with that fact, but we suggest you watch the two first ladies from the other side. Namely, with the human.

People who knew Kennedy or who met her at least once noted her coldness and stiffness. Jacqueline always looked closed and tense, it seemed that she didn’t feel safe, that made her even further from the others.

Nina Petrovna, on the contrary, radiated self-confidence. In any business and at any event, she felt in control of the situation, behaved without complex, moved freely and reacted openly in the dialogues with her interlocutors.

No, she wasn’t intrusive or tactless. Khrushchev cannot be convicted of rudeness or bad manners. On the contrary, the first lady of the USSR impressed Americans with her manners and brilliant ability to carry on any secular conversation. It was interesting with her, people were drawn to her. This is how she arranged herself, adding points to her husband.

Her self-confidence did not require any special shell or protection in the form of tight-fitting suits, in which Jacqueline Kennedy shone. And if Jackie was always second to her husband, then Nina Petrovna was on an equal footing with her husband – her faithful companion and partner.
