Luciano Szafir is discharged after undergoing surgery in Sao Paulo

The actor was admitted to Hospital Nove de Julho to treat advanced osteoarthritis

Luciano Szafir, 53, was discharged on Friday 4, after being operated on at the Nove de Julho hospital, in Sao Paulo, for the treatment of advanced right side hip arthrosis. The information was confirmed a Estadio from the actor’s press office.

“He’s been discharged. He’s already going home,” the team said. Szafir underwent total arthroplasty on Wednesday 2.

Arthrosis, according to the artist’s orthopedist, Marcelo Godoi Cavalheiro, causes a lot of pain and limitation in the region it affects. “In surgery, the worn surface is removed and replaced with a prosthesis,” she said in a statement. The actor used a ceramic one.

The artist will perform the same procedure on the left side of the hip on November 30th.
