‘Fake woman’: Why Kate Winslet hid for years that she gave birth to her eldest daughter by caesarean section

Celebrities are increasingly talking about childbirth to let millions of women know that there is no perfect scenario.

Kate Winslet is a mother of three children. The eldest Mia was born in 2000 from the actress’s marriage to director Jim Trippleton. Her son Joe Alfie was born in 2003, when Kate was married to director Sam Mendes. In 2013, Winslet became the mother of many children: she and her millionaire husband Ned Rocknroll had a son, Bear Blaze.

For many years Kate hid that eldest Mia was born by cesarean section. She was ashamed of this fact, feared public censure and did not consider herself a real woman.

“I did my best to hide it. She just said I had a natural birth. I was traumatized that I didn’t give birth. I felt like a complete failure. We told me all my life that I have good hips to have children. There is an opinion that if you give birth, you can handle anything. It seemed to me that I could not join this “club of real women” , the actress admitted years later.
