Clarence Gilyard Jr.known by fans of Top Gun: indomitable acesnext to Tom Cruiselike the pilot of Sundown and of Die Hard, like the evil hacker Theo, has died at the age of 66. According to Variety, the news was confirmed by the University of Nevada, where he has served as a performing arts professor since 2006, without citing the cause of his death.
Gilard Jr. devoted himself to teaching young actors. Principal, Heather Addison, called the star “a ray of light and strength to all those around her.”
“We will always love you and miss you Professor G!” she wrote.
