Gil do Vigor is the new director of inclusion and diversity at Sport Club do Recife, his favorite team. He was on the list of the new president of the Pernambuco club, Yuri Romão, who won with 96% of the votes, beating the group of the repentant Bolsonarista Luciano Bivar.
The former BBB took to social networking to celebrate his ticket win in the election and his new role at the club.
“It worked! With over 96% of the votes. I feel very honored and let’s work! Everything is for Sport,” he wrote on Twitter.
The celebration contrasts with the injury Gil suffered from a team adviser, Flávio Koury, last year. During a visit to the sports stadium, Gil performed the “tchaki tchaki” dance that became famous on the BBB, and after the video went viral, the club’s councilor posted an audio in a sports group with homophobic attacks.
“1.2 million views. Arretado! 1.2 million people who think that sport has only fags, only fags. It will sell a shirt. All the fags will buy it… It will be beautiful!”, said the now former executive in an excerpt from the audio, which he added with “This is demoralization! This is the absence of shame in the face. This is what we are experiencing. There is no more respect for father and son. It is depravity.”
Due to the negative backlash from the comments, Sport has decided to create a diversity secretary, with Gil as its first executive.
