Variety magazine’s annual Variety’s Power of Women ceremony took place yesterday in New York. It is given to women who have reached certain heights in business and entertainment and have made a significant contribution to charity, society and their field. This year’s winners were actresses Drew Barrymore, Kim Cattrall, Queen Latifah and Amanda Seyfried, as well as singer Camila Cabello. All of them also appeared on the covers of the new issue of the magazine – in an interview with the publication, Kim spoke about her life and work, and at the same time explained why she did not appear in the sequel to Sex and the City.
The stars came to support colleagues and close people. Kim Cattrall, 65, was accompanied by her longtime partner Russell Thomas. This is their first red carpet appearance together in three years – the last time they posed like this for photographers was in April 2019 at the premiere of The Apollo film as part of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Actress and public speaking teacher, who is 20 years younger than her, has been together for six years and celebrated their anniversary just two weeks ago. At the same time, they are in no hurry to register their relationship officially.
The actress does not like to talk about her boyfriend. Only in an interview with Glamor magazine in April 2018, Kim spoke about her acquaintance with Russell:
Russell and I met at the BBC, he was then working for that channel. We immediately liked each other. Then he followed me on Twitter and sent me a private message and I replied. Our acquaintance and the ensuing communication turned out to be very modern, it was simple and so easy … Yes, I’m really in love with him. He’s a very nice, cool guy.
Kim is just as restrained in her emotions on social networks – she publishes a photo with her lover every few months, she posted the last post with him on New Year’s Eve. It should be noted that Kim found love and support in the person of Russell just a few months before the tragic death of her brother Chris Cattrall. Recall that in February 2018, she turned to subscribers to help in search of her missing brother, but soon reported that he was found dead. He was 55 years old.
